 Geologist (Jr.).
Geology Survey of India has made an important contribution in
application of petrochemistry in the stratigraphy, tectonics. Volcanism
and metallogeny in the Proterozoic Delhi Fold Belt of Rajasthan having
bearing on the base metal and gold mineralization. His recognition of
felsic volcanic rocks in South Delhi Fold Belt is an important
contribution for understanding the geological evolution in this belt
including the contrasting metallogeny in felsic and mafic rocks.
In recognition of his
significant contribution in the field of Geochemistry as applied to
earth sciences, Dr. P. R. Golani is conferred the National Minerals
Award for 1992-1993. He shares the award with his co-workers Dr. J.
Bhattacharjee and Dr. Fareeduddin.
