RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS

Immediately after passing out M.Sc. in Geology, Dr. P .C. Avadhich joined the Post-Graduate Department of Geology, University of Rajasthan at Udaipur as Asstt. Professor. Along with teaching P .G. classes also carried out research in field of economic geology on barytes deposits in south Rajasthan. Suggested a volcanogenic exhalative model of ore deposits of barytes and associated ore minerals found in Aravalli super groups.
Minerals are non-renewable resources therefore, their conservation and scientific exploitation is necessary with this in mind, the subsequent research activity included the fields of mineral economics and environmental geology (branches of Applied Geology). Along with fellow workers, the findings were dispersed amongst mineral entrepreneurs through seminars, conferences etc. The results and effects can be seen in their improved technologies and working.
The alumni of the department are working in different mineral industries including state and union government bodies and private sector. Some of them have established their own industries. In order to develop fraternity, exchange of knowledge and technological information the Alumni Association "was formed. Under its banner lectures, seminars, workshops, exhibition etc. were organised. This increased the interaction amongst the alumni and holistic development of the alma mater.
All the above activities helped the university department to upgrade its curriculum with improved scientific knowledge and industrial demand.
