RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS
(Please visit www.psranawat.org)

Dr. P .S. Ranawat secured 1st Position, with distinction (75%), in the batch of 1968 of the M.Sc. Tech. (Applied Geology) of Rajasthan University Department of Geology, Udaipur. In the same Department he started his research work as a CSIR JRF for his Ph.D. thesis on Fluorspar Deposits of Rajasthan. He established one of the first fluid inclusion laboratories in the country, originally with a fabricated pyrophyllite-body heating stage, then with a CHAIMECA heating -freezing system, unreserved help of which was extended to researcher from all over the country. Over the years Dr. Ranawat studied the Jharol asbestos, Agucha lead-zinc, Karara volcanogenic fluorspar deposits, Kararavav scheelite prospect through research fundings by UGC, State DST, HZL, RSMML. He played active role in rationalization of forest laws vis-à-vis mine lease laws and that of the asbestos problem. He has dissipated research finding through Ph.D  thesis (5), publications in journals, presentation at "International Volcanological Congress" New Zealand (1986), 29th International Geological Congress, Washington D.C. (1989), 29th International Geological Congress, Kyoto (1992) and several conferences in India. For the post-doctoral work he worked in the laboratories of USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow, and Moscow State University under the INSA-USSR Academy of Sciences Collaborative Program 1986, and at CNRS-CRSCM Orleans, France, under the CSIR-CNRS research project, 1996.
